A woman in a full skirt sits on a garden swing, the ropes trimmed with applied porcelain roses; a suitor stands at her side with one hand on the rope. It is the tallest and the most worked piece we make, which is why it costs more than the rest.

Every flower on the swing is made and applied by hand before the glaze firing. Expect the number of them and their exact placement to differ from lamp to lamp — that is how applied porcelain flowers work, and it is not a fault.

Care

The applied flowers are the most fragile part of the piece — dust them with a dry soft brush and never with a cloth, which will catch and snap a petal. See Care & Materials.
