Privacy policy

Last updated 24 March 2025

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Turqelis collects when you use turqelis.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. Turqelis is a trading name of CRONUS COMMODITIES LIMITED, a company registered in Hong Kong, and we are the data controller for the information described here.

Information we collect

Information you give us. Your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and the contents of any message you send us. If you create an account, the details you save in it.

Order information. What you ordered, when, the amount paid, the delivery address and the tracking number. Our payment provider tells us the card brand and the last four digits so we can identify a transaction. We never receive or store your full card number, expiry date or security code.

Information collected automatically. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and what you click, and referral information telling us how you arrived. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Marketing preferences. Whether you have asked to receive email from us, and whether you opened it.

We do not knowingly collect information from children. We do not ask for, and do not want, your date of birth, government identification numbers, or any information about your health.

Why we use it

  • To take, fulfil and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.
  • To answer your emails and handle returns, replacements and refunds.
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent orders and misuse of the site.
  • To keep the records tax and company law require us to keep.
  • To send marketing email, but only where you have asked for it.
  • To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

Our legal grounds, where that concept applies to you, are: performance of our contract with you (orders and delivery); our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, site improvement, answering enquiries); your consent (marketing email, non-essential cookies); and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it.

We share what is necessary with the parties who help us run the business:

  • Shopify, which hosts this store and operates checkout.
  • Payment providers, which handle the transaction and hold the card details we never see.
  • Shipping carriers and our fulfilment partner, which need your name, address and, where the carrier requires it, a contact email.
  • Email and analytics providers, which process communications and site usage data on our instructions.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If the business is ever sold or merged, customer records may pass to the buyer on the same terms as this policy.

International transfers

We operate from Hong Kong and our service providers operate in several countries, so your information may be transferred outside the country you live in. Where we transfer information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom we rely on recognised safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for seven years, which is what tax and company law requires. Customer service emails are kept for two years. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe and removed within 30 days of your doing so. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form.

Cookies

Essential cookies keep your cart and session working and cannot be switched off without breaking the site. Analytics and marketing cookies are optional. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you block the essential ones, checkout will not work.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive it in a portable format, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent you have given. Residents of California, the EEA and the UK have specific statutory rights along these lines, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — which, as above, we do not do.

To exercise any of them, email info@turqelis.com from the address you used to order. We respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may have to keep records we are legally required to keep even after a deletion request.

You will never be charged, refused service or given a worse price for exercising these rights.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, access to customer records is limited to the people who need it, and payment data never touches our systems. No system is perfectly secure and we will not pretend otherwise. Please do not send card numbers or passwords by email.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the revised version here and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use information you have already given us will be notified by email where we hold your address.

Contact

Questions or complaints about privacy go to info@turqelis.com. If you are in the EEA or the UK and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
